QMJHL Roundup: A look at Friday's games @NHLdotcom

The Saint John Sea Dogs are once again alone atop the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League standings.

Scott Oke scored a goal and assisted on another as the Sea Dogs defeated the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles 5-2 Friday.

Tomas Jurco, Danick Gauthier, Grant West and Nathan Beaulieu also scored for Saint John (22-7-1), which currently holds a narrow two-point lead over the Quebec Remparts for first place.

David Rose and Jonathan Brunelle each had a goal and an assist for the Screaming Eagles (11-16-1).

Mathieu Corbiel made 17 saves for the win while Alexandre Veronneau stopped 16 shots in defeat.

Neither team could score with the man advantage as Saint John went 0-for-3 and Cape Breton went 0-for-5.

Elsewhere in the QMJHL, it was: Halifax 6, P.E.I. 3; Drummondville 6, Quebec 2; Rimouski 5, Blainville-Boisbriand 3; Shawinigan 3, Chicoutimi 2 (SO); Baie-Comeau 7, Rouyn-Noranda 3 and Val-d'Or 5, Acadie-Bathurst 4 (SO).

At Saint John, N.B., Brunelle opened the scoring at 17:53 of the first period to give Cape Breton a 1-0 lead.

Rose doubled the Screaming Eagles' lead 28 seconds into the second period, but 15 second later Gauthier scored for the Sea Dogs to cut the lead in half.

Jurco and Oke scored before the second period finished, giving Saint John a 3-2 lead heading into the third period.

Beaulieu scored 26 seconds into the third and West added another at 4:55 to give the Sea Dogs the victory.


Mooseheads 6 Rocket 3

At Halifax, N.S., Nathan MacKinnon scored once and assisted on three others as the Mooseheads (17-7-2) defeated P.E.I. (7-20-3).


Voltiguers 6 Remparts 2

At Drummondville, Que., Emil Sylvegard scored two goals and two assists as the Voltiguers (12-13-3) snapped Quebec's (20-5-3) nine-game winning streak.


Oceanic 5 Armada 3

At Boisbriand, Que., Alexandre Mallet had a hat trick to lead Rimouski (17-13-0) over the Armada (13-13-2).


Cataractes 3 Sagueneens 2 (SO)

At Saguenay, Que., Kirill Kabanov scored twice in regulation and Anton Zlobin scored the winner in a shootout as Shawinigan (18-8-3) squeezed by Chicoutimi (12-8-7).


Drakkar 7 Huskies 3

At Rouyn-Noranda, Que., Samuel Carrier scored once and assisted on four others as Baie-Comeau (14-12-0) crushed the Huskies (8-20-2).


Foreurs 5 Titan 4 (SO)

At Val-d'Or, Que., Nicolas Larocque-Marcoux scored twice and added an assist while Cedrick Henley scored the shoot-out winner lifting the Foreurs (12-14-0) over Acadie-Bathurst (11-14-4).
