Devon MacAusland scored the winner in the third Friday as the Moncton Wildcats downed the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles 3-2 in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.

Patrick Downe and Allain Saulnier had the other goals for Moncton (6-6-0), which got 35 saves from Will Roman in the victory.

Olivier Jodoin, with a goal and an assist, and Kyle Farrell replied for Cape Breton (6-4-0).

Alexandre Veronneau made 18 saves in defeat.

Elsewhere in the QMJHL it was: Rimouski 4, P.E.I. 1; Victoriaville 5, Acadie-Bathurst 3; Quebec 4, Rouyn-Noranda 2; Val-d'Or 1, Chicoutimi 0; Gatineau 6, Drummondville 3; and Blainville-Boisbriand 4, Shawinigan 3 (SO).

At Sydney, N.S., the Screaming Eagles trailed 1-0 after the first. Jodoin scored on the power play at 8:17 of the second to tie the game before Saulnier restored the Moncton lead on the man advantage at 19:11.

MacAusland scored the unassisted winner at 9:44 of the third in a period where the Wildcats were outshot 17-4.

Oceanic 4, Rocket 1

At Charlottetown, Carl Hozjan made 20 saves as Rimouski (6-4-0) downed P.E.I (3-6-1).

At Bathurst, N.B., Philippe Halley scored twice as Victoriaville (8-3-0) got past the Titan (3-8-1).

At Quebec City, Francois Brassard made 25 saves as the Remparts (5-2-2) defeated Rouyn-Noranda (5-5-1).

Foreurs 1, Sagueneens 0

At Chicoutimi, Que., Benjamin Casavant scored the only goal as Val-d'Or (5-4-2) dumped the Sagueneens (3-4-4).

Olympiques 6, Voltigeurs 3

At Gatineau, Que., Jean-Gabriel Pageau had two goals and an assist as the Olympiques (5-5-0) topped the Voltigeurs (4-6-0).

Armada 4, Cataractes 3 (SO)

At Shawinigan, Que., Raphael Pouliot scored in regulation and added the shootout winner as Blainville-Boisbriand (5-6-0) outlasted the Cataractes (7-3-1).
