QMJHL Round up: A look at Friday's games @NHL

Jerome Gauthier-Leduc had two goals and two assists as the Rimouski Oceanic defeated the Chicoutimi Sagueneens 5-4 Friday in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.

Culek, Liam O'Brien and Jean-Francois Plante also scored for the Oceanic (19-14-0).

Charles Hudon led Chicoutimi (12-10-7) with a goal and an assist as Lukas Sedlak, Alexandre Beauregard and Jeremy Gregoire each had a goal apiece.

Carl Hozjan made 31 saves for the win while Christopher Gibson stopped 24 shots in defeat.

Rimouski went 2-for-7 on the power play as Chicoutimi scored once on four opportunities with the man advantage.

Elsewhere in the QMJHL, it was: Halifax 5, Gatineau 3; Shawinigan 3, Acadie-Bathurst 1; Baie-Comeau 2, Blainville-Boisbriand 1; Rouyn-Noranda 6, Drummondville 5 and Victoriaville 6, Val-d'Or 1.

At Rimouski, Que., O'Brien scored 6:27 into the first period to open the scoring and give Rimouski a 1-0 lead.

Gauthier-Leduc scored three minutes later to make it 2-0 Oceanic but Hudon scored at 15:00 to cut the lead in half heading into the first intermission.

Gauthier-Leduc scored his second of the game, on the power play, 4:51 into the second period and Culek added another power-play goal before the period was through to make it 4-1 Rimouski after 40 minutes.

Beauregard scored early in the third period on the power play and Sedlak added another at 16:56, cutting the Oceanic lead to 4-3.

Plante dashed any hope of a Sagueneens come back when he scored into the empty net with 1:14 remaining in the game.

Gregoire scored at 19:24 but it wasn't enough as Rimouski won 5-4.


Mooseheads 5 Olympiques 3

At Halifax, N.S., Gabriel Desjardins scored three consecutive goals in the second period to lead the Mooseheads (18-7-3) over Gatineau (14-13-4).


Cataractes 3 Titan 1

At Bathurst, N.B., Yannick Veilleux had a goal and an assist as Shawinigan (20-8-3) defeated the Titan (12-16-4).


Drakkar 2 Armada 1

At Boisbriand, Que., Lukas Cingel scored the winner early in the third period and Jimmy Appleby made 25 saves as Baie-Comeau (15-13-1) held off the Armada (15-14-2).


Huskies 6 Voltiguers 5

At Rouyn-Noranda, Que., Mathieu Brisebois scored once and set up three others, leading the Huskies (10-20-2) over Drummondville (12-15-4).


Tigres 6 Foreurs 1

At Val-d'Or, Que., Phillip Danault and Simon Darveau each had a goal and two assists as Victoriaville (20-9-1) beat the Foreurs (13-15-3).
