Puempel's six points leads the way as Peterborough Petes topple Oshawa 10-3 @NHLdotcom

PETERBOROUGH, Ont. - Matt Puempel had a hat trick and three assists as the Peterborough Petes rocked the Oshawa Generals 10-3 in Ontario Hockey League action Saturday night.

Pat Daley scored twice and added four assists for Peterborough (29-35-4), while Joey West had a pair of goals. Austin Watson tallied and had five helpers, while Luke Hietkamp and Jamie Doornbosch had singles.

Jason Missiaen stopped 26 of 28 shots in the first 40 minutes of play for the Petes before being replaced by Andrew D'Agostini who made 10 saves on 11 chances.

Jimmy McDowell opened scoring for Oshawa (24-39-5) with a power-play marker 1:53 into the first period. Tyler Taylor and Jeff Hayes had the other goals for the Generals.

Michael Zador saved 12 of 18 shots. Kevin Bailie replaced Zador 10:49 into the middle period, stopped 12 of 16.
