Puempel scores twice, Senators snap winless streak with 4-1 victory over IceCaps

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - Matt Puempel scored twice as the Binghamton Senators snapped a five-game losing streak with a 4-1 win over the St. John's IceCaps Saturday in American Hockey League play.

Max McCormick and Ryan Dzingel each had a goal and an assist for the Senators (6-13-2), who got a 27-save performance from Matt O'Connor.

Mark MacMillan found the back of the net for the IceCaps (12-6-4), who suffered their first regulation-time loss in 11 outings after going 6-0-4 in their past 10 games.

Dustin Tokarski turned away 26-of-29 shots in a losing cause.

Binghamton went 0 for 2 on the power play while St. John's failed to score on three chances with the man advantage.
