Iowa earned a 4-2 win its first game of the week against Grand Rapids Wednesday at Van Andel Arena (3/14). F Sam Anas (0-2=2), F Gerald Mayhew (2-0=2) and F Dante Salituro (2-0=2) each led the Wild with two points. F Cal O'Reilly tallied two assists as his second helper marked his 500th AHL point. G Niklas Svedberg stopped 30-of-32 shots.
The Wild won its second game of the week against the Griffins, 2-1, Saturday in Grand Rapids (3/17). D Alex Grant and F Gerry Fitzgerald each scored for Iowa while O'Reilly recorded his 400th career assist and D Louis Belpedio made his AHL debut. Svedberg made 19 saves.
Iowa fell in its third game of the week, 7-3, against Chicago Sunday at Allstate Arena (3/18). F Colton Beck, F Pat Cannone and F Kyle Rau each scored for the Wild while G Steve Michalek stopped 19-of-26 shots.
The Wild dropped its final game of the week, 5-2, against Rockford Monday at Wells Fargo Arena (3/19). Rau led Iowa with two points (1-1=2) while F Mitch McLain also scored a goal. Svedberg made 20 saves.
O'Reilly leads Iowa with 53 points (12-41=53) in 63 games this season and ranks T-4th in the league in assists and ninth in scoring. Anas ranks second with 52 points (20-32=52) while ranking T-4th in the AHL with three shootout goals and T-10th in scoring. F Justin Kloos ranks third with 43 points (19-24=43), ranking sixth amongst AHL rookies in scoring, T-6th in goals, T-7th in PPG (7) and ninth in assists.
Svedberg is 18-12-6 with a 2.56 GAA, a .915 SV% and two shutouts in 37 games this season. Michalek is 11-6-5 with a 3.16 GAA and a .906 SV% in 22 contests.
