PHILADELPHIA (AP) -Chris Pronger made his mark as one of the nastiest defensemen in the NHL. He has kept the Flyers' postseason drive alive with his scoring.
Pronger has two goals in the first two games of the series against New Jersey. He used his 6-foot-6 frame as a screen on Devils goalie Martin Brodeur and redirected a shot for a tying goal in Game 2. The Flyers lost the game, but look to take a 2-1 lead in the series on Sunday when it shifts to Philadelphia.
Pronger's timely goals have helped make up for the punchless production out of Jeff Carter. Carter led the team in goals during the regular season, but has failed to record a point in the first two games.
Carter refused to blame his recovery from a broken foot as the reason he is struggling.
