ST. LOUIS -- Projected lineups for Tuesday's matchup between the San Jose Sharks and St. Louis Blues from Scottrade Center.

Logan Couture - Joe Thornton - Tommy Wingels

Ryane Clowe - Patrick Marleau - Joe Pavelski

James Sheppard - Scott Gomez - Brent Burns

Andrew Desjardins - Michal Handzus - Adam Burish

Matt Irwin - Dan Boyle

Brad Stuart- Marc-Edouard Vlasic

Douglas Murray - Justin Braun

Antti Niemi

Alex Stalock

Scratched: Jason Demers, Matt Pelech, TJ Galiardi, Tim Kennedy.

Injured: Martin Havlat (upper-body), Thomas Greiss (neck).

The Sharks are expected to remove Burns (lower body), who's missed the last seven games, from injured reserve Tuesday afternoon and insert him into the lineup as a forward, a spot in which he and coach Todd McLellan have seen before in the past.

"It's been a while," Burns said when asked about playing forward. "... I think it's just going to be a matter of skating, trying to shoot the puck, use my body and protect the puck. We'll see. It's good to get back and helping in any way I can."

McLellan said they'll multi-task with Burns, play him up front and in his customary position on the back line.

"A bit of a rover," McLellan said. "We'll see if we can use his speed, and his shot up front. Obviously there's an asset to have him back there. ... We've dressed seven [defensemen] before many times. We just feel that he has some offensive assets that maybe we can tap into up front. He will see some shifts up there."

Alex Steen - David Backes - Chris Stewart

David Perron - Patrik Berglund - T.J. Oshie

Jaden Schwartz - Vladimir Sobotka - Matt D'Agostini

Chris Porter - Scott Nichol - Ryan Reaves

Barret Jackman - Alex Pietrangelo

Wade Redden - Kevin Shattenkirk

Kris Russell - Roman Polak

Jake Allen

Jaroslav Halak

Scratched: Brian Elliott, Ian Cole, Adam Cracknell, Andrew Murray.

Injured: Andy McDonald (knee), Vladimir Tarasenko (concussion), Jamie Langenbrunner (hip).

The Blues are expected to get Steen (upper body) back into the lineup after missing the previous seven games. Steen was skating with Backes and Stewart during the Blues' morning skate Tuesday but coach Ken Hitchcock said his status won't be determined until sometime Tuesday afternoon.

"Steen took a full skate today," Hitchcock said. "We'll see how he feels in a few hours. If he feels OK, then we'll talk to him. If not, then we'll wait on that. It's a very fluid roster right now.

"I don't know our lineup. You have to buy a ticket and figure it out later on just like we will later on. ... We'll find out here in a couple hours."

McDonald and Tarasenko, who have missed seven and eight games, respectively, also took part in the morning skate and skated hard but are not ready to return yet. They both seem to be close based on their activity in recent days.
