Prince George surprises Blazers 5-1; Rodgers leads with four assists @NHLdotcom

KAMLOOPS, B.C. - Centre Alex Rodgers set up four goals to lead the Prince George Cougars to a 5-1 upset over the Kamloops Blazers in Western Hockey League action Friday night.

Brett Connolly scored twice for Prince George (12-56-3), while James Dobrowolski, Spencer Asuchak and Garrett Thiessen also tallied.

Brendan Ranford had the only goal for Kamloops (32-33-6).

Rodgers, 20, is from Salmon Arm, which is located 90 kilometres east of Kamloops, and began his WHL career with the Blazers.

Prince George goaltender Alex Wright stopped 40 shots, while the Kamloops duo of Kurtis Mucha and Jon Groenheyde combined to turn aside 28.
