Prince Albert Raiders end season on high note, beat Saskatoon Blades 8-3 @NHLdotcom

PRINCE ALBERT, Sask. - The Prince Albert Raiders ended their season with an 8-3 win over the Saskatoon Blades in Western Hockey League action Saturday night.

Igor Revenko and Craig McCallum each scored two goals as the Raiders (32-35-5), finished in ninth place in the Eastern Conference. They were eliminated from playoff contention Wednesday.

Dustin Cameron, Brandon Herrod, Jonathan Parker and Mark McNeill also scored for Prince Albert, and defenceman Ryan Button picked up three assists. Raiders goalie Garrett Zemlak made 26 saves.

It was the final WHL game for graduating Raiders Zemlak, McCallum and Cameron.

Darren Dietz had a power-play marker for Saskatoon (46-19-7). Marek Viedensky and Travis Toomey each netted short-handed goals to put the Blades ahead 3-1 in the first period, but the Raiders scored seven unanswered goals in the final two periods. Adam Morrison faced 40 shots in the Saskatoon net.

The Blades finished third in the Eastern Conference. They'll face the Red Deer Rebels in the opening round of the playoffs, beginning March 20 in Saskatoon.
