PRE-GAME REPORT

EDMONTON, AB - The Oilers were very pleased with their 3-2 overtime victory over the Anaheim Ducks, Saturday night. The Ducks tied the game twice and had a power play late in the third, but the Oilers hung in and Leon Draisaitl scored the winner.
UPDATE: Jonas Gustavsson will get the start in goal tonight, Oilers head coach Todd McLellan confirmed this morning.
But with the back-to-back, Edmonton has little time to dwell on one win as they try to stack more victories.
"We need to put together some wins," said Oilers centre Ryan Nugent-Hopkins. "The good teams in the League get streaky by piling wins together. Last night was a big win against the Ducks. We were tied coming into the night with them and we put ourselves just a point ahead of them but every point counts."
The Wild are next up for the Oilers. Minnesota has lost three in a row coming to Edmonton.
"We've got to keep that going," said Nugent-Hopkins. "Minnesota is another Western Conference team. They play a similar style to Anaheim. It's going to be a tight-checking team. We can take the positives from that win and take them into this game."
DR. DRAI
Draisaitl's game-winner on Saturday isn't the only production the big, German centre has had lately. In his last 10 games, Draisaitl has 13 points, including seven goals.
"There's a lot of talk about what Connor (McDavid) does and that's pretty evident too, but I think we're seeing another young guy really emerge as a 'go-to' guy in Leon," Head Coach Todd McLellan said after the game.
"I told him on the bench, 'be the best player on the ice. You don't have to be the second-best player, be the best player,' and he responded with the winning goal."
Draisaitl is second on the Oilers in scoring with 21 points (10-11-21) this season. He has been paired with the team-leading scorer, McDavid, the last few games.
"Obviously, sometimes it takes a little while to build more and more chemistry and to feel really comfortable with guys," said Draisaitl. "We had a few looks (against the Ducks) but we also know we played probably against the best matchup team in the League right now. It's never going to be easy but we're happy we won."
CAGGIULA'S FIRST
Drake Caggiula said he couldn't wipe the smile off his face Saturday night, after scoring his first NHL goal against the Ducks.
Caggiula beat John Gibson at 5:17 of the second period to open scoring.
"You never know how it's going to feel until it finally happens," said Caggiula. "There are no words to describe it. It's just such an exhilarating feeling, especially to do it in front of the home crowd too, it gives you that extra adrenaline boost. It was a great moment for myself."
Caggiula has been opening eyes since joining the lineup eight games ago. The rookie from the University of North Dakota has a goal and two assists in those eight contests.
"I thought he was dangerous real early in the game before he scored," said McLellan of his game against the Ducks. "He had a number of shooting opportunities, and what he has is a really quick release. In today's game, your shot range, the space you need to release the puck needs to be small, it can't be a long release. Him getting the goal early, we're happy for him, he's become an important piece."
PROJECTED LINEUP
Mark Fayne, replacing an injured Darnell Nurse in the lineup, played 12:44, paired with Oscar Klefbom. With the back-to-back games, the Oilers don't skate Sunday morning. If the lineup stays the same as it was in the win against Anaheim, it will be as follows:
Lucic-McDavid-Draisaitl
Pouliot-Nugent-Hopkins-Eberle
Slepyshev-Caggiula-Pitlick
Maroon-Letestu-Kassian
Russell-Larsson
Klefbom-Fayne
Sekera-Benning
