President Obama tweets support for Blackhawks @NHLdotcom

President Barack Obama used his Twitter account to show support for his hometown Chicago Blackhawks on Monday.

Obama took to @BarackObama about an hour before Game 6 on Monday to tweet, "Let's. Go. Hawks," accompanied by a picture of First Lady Michelle Obama prior to the 2015 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic between the Blackhawks and Washington Capitals.

The Blackhawks were trying to win the Stanley Cup for the third time in six seasons by defeating the Tampa Bay Lightning at United Center.

Obama was a senator from Illinois prior to being elected president in 2008, has been very vocal about his love for Chicago-based sports teams, including the Blackhawks.

In 2010 and 2013, Obama hosted the championship-winning Blackhawks at the White House.
