DEVILS VS. MAPLE LEAFS
Tonight is the second of three games between New Jersey and Toronto this season. The clubs will wrap-up their season series Mar. 23 at Air Canada Centre. The Devils defeated the Leafs, 5-4 SO, in their first match-up Nov. 23 at Prudential Center. The team responded by scoring four goals in the final two periods when they trailed Toronto, 3-0, after the first period.
Jacob Josefson scored the game-deciding goal for New Jersey. Yohann Auvitu tied the game with 6:50 remaining to force overtime. Michael Cammalleri had a four-point night (1g-3a) and Travis Zajac also scored three points (1g-2a).
The Devils have won their last five games vs. Toronto at Prudential Center. They have not lost in regulation against the Maple Leafs since Apr. 15, 2013 (6-0-4).
New Jersey is 5-5-3 vs. the Atlantic Division and is 10-9-5 against the Eastern Conference. The club opens its ninth of 18 sets of back-to-back games. New Jersey is 3-3-2 in first games and is 4-2-2 in second games.
At 6-0-3, Cory Schneider has not lost a game in regulation against Toronto in his career.
