NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -Swiss defenseman Roman Josi has signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Nashville Predators.

The Predators announced the deal Friday with their second-round pick in the 2008 draft.

Josi (YO-see) played for SC Bern in the Swiss League. The 6-foot-1, 198-pound defenseman tied for fourth overall with six goals and ranked second at his position with 13 points in helping win the Swiss League playoffs.

The 38th pick overall in 2008 led Swiss defensemen with three points and a plus-3 rating in seven games at the World Championships in May. He also was named to the Swiss team for the 2010 Olympics but could not participate due to injury.
