Predators put Suter on IR, sign Begin @NHLdotcom
The Nashville Predators placed defenseman Ryan Suter on the injured list Wednesday with a leg injury.

Suter was injured in the first period of Tuesday's 1-0 overtime loss to Calgary when he collided with Flames defenseman Cory Sarich in front of the Predators' bench. The Predators placed Suter on injured reserve Wednesday, and they hope the U.S. Olympian can start skating Monday and return for their game Oct. 28.

Nashville also took forward Jamie Lundmark off IR and sent him to their AHL farm team in Milwaukee.

The Predators also added some extra toughness up front by signing forward Steve Begin. TSN says the one-year, two-way contract is worth $550,000.

The 32-year old Begin is scheduled to report to Milwaukee for a conditioning stint before joining the Predators.

Begin played 77 games for the Boston Bruins last season, finishing with 5 goals and 14points. He added 1 goal in 13 playoff games. In 486 career games split among the Flames, Canadiens, Stars and Bruins, Begin has 52 goals and 100 points to go along with 535 PIM.
