Predators could clinch playoff spot tonight @NHLdotcom
The Nashville Predators could find their way back into the Stanley Cup Playoffs on Tuesday.

With 12 days left in the season, there still are 10 playoffs spots up for grabs, but if the Predators earn at least a point in their game in St. Louis against the Blues, they'll drop that number to nine.

If the Preds get in, it will be their third straight postseason trip, and their seventh in the last eight seasons.

The Predators have won four of five games against the Blues this season, including both previous games in St. Louis.

If Nashville clinches, they would become the fourth team in the Western Conference to get into the playoff party, joining the Blues, Vancouver Canucks and Detroit Red Wings, who punched their playoff ticket with a win against the Columbus Blue Jackets on Monday.

In the East, the New York Rangers, Pittsburgh Penguins and Philadelphia Flyers all have earned playoff spots.
