The Ducks claimed their second win in as many games with a 2-1 victory over the Montreal Canadiens at Honda Center. Anaheim finished the month of November with an 8-4-2 record, tied for the second-most November wins in franchise history. With tonight's victory, the Ducks improved to 9-1-1 when scoring first, 7-1-0 when leading after one period, and 9-0-0 when leading after two.

Anaheim improved to 9-2-2 against Montreal since 2005-06 and has won three straight home games vs. the Canadiens for the first time in club history. Anaheim is now 7-1-2 in its last 10 home games vs. Montreal.

On the game
We knew it was a big game. It was a good test. They're the best team in the league and everyone wants to see how they stack up against the best. We played well. There were spurts when they dominated and there were spurts when we had lots of good possession and played how we wanted.

You know you have to be good. He usually doesn't give up too many, so you have to put it upon yourself to do the best you can.

On the start
Our start wasn't very good. Before we were five minutes into the game, they had 10 shots and we had nothing. They had their legs and were ready from the start. It might've caught us off guard a bit, but we started to get into it. We stayed in the game with some big saves from Gibby [Gibson].
On his goal
It was a weird angle. My body was facing the boards, so it's not an ideal angle to get everything you want on the shot, but I'm not complaining. I think it changed direction, so that's probably why it went in.

He saved us a lot of times. If he didn't play this good, it might not have been the same result.

We know they've played really well. All we wanted to do was match their intensity.

The game within the game, if your goaltender out-goaltends the opposition, usually you win. There aren't many goalies that have been able to do that against Price this year, but we provided enough offense. We were stout on the penalty kill and we won the special teams battle.

Our goalie kept us in the game, we got a 1-0 lead and we were much better in the rest of the game. I thought we were really good in the third period until they scored. We did a lot of checking and kept everything to the outside.

On the Canadiens' play
I don't think it's that we're not ready to play. We showed we were ready to play, but there was a lapse in the second where we opened ourselves up.
On the game
Pricey [Carey Price] came up big for us, and kept us in the game. We've gotten away from our game. We were using our speed in the first, then we got away from that. It's something we need to learn from because if we use our speed, we're a tough team to handle.

On the Ducks
They're a big-body team. They are a heavy team playing down low. They did what they wanted to do and leaned on us down low. They kept throwing pucks at the net, jammed one in and got a lucky bounce on the other one, and that's all they needed. Their goaltender played pretty well for them.
On the second period
We knew they were going to come out hard in the second. We had a very strong first period, but we failed to respond in the second period. We need to improve on that as we wrap this one up, and move on to the next game.

On tonight's scoring chances
Both team got a lot of scoring chances. Both goalies played really well. I liked the way we got out of the gate tonight. I thought we were ready to play. I didn't like the way we played in the second. They put pressure on us and we didn't react the right way but we gave it all that we had in the third.

This is something we addressed to the team about our second period. We have to make sure we maintain that push when we start ticking.
