Andrew Hammond made his first NHL postseason start since April 17, 2015 at Montreal and earned his first playoff win, making 44 saves for a new career high (regular and postseason combined). Hammond is the first Colorado goaltender to post a 40+ save performance in a playoff game since Semyon Varlamov made 45 saves in Game 3 of the Avs' first-round series against the Minnesota Wild on April 21, 2014.
Sven Andrighetto scored his first career playoff goal and third game-winning tally of his career (regular season & postseason).
The last time the Avalanche won a Game 5 in a playoff series - down 3-1 - to force a Game 6 was in its Western Conference Semifinals matchup against the San Jose Sharks in 2004. The Avs lost the first three games of that series before winning Game 4 at home and Game 5 in San Jose. The Sharks won the best-of-seven series 4-2.

Colorado's Game 5 win is its first road postseason victory since April 14, 2010 (Western Conference Quarterfinals Game 1 vs. San Jose).
The Avalanche is the first team to win a playoff game in regulation where they faced a deficit in the final 5:00 of the third period since the Chicago Blackhawks in Game 6 of the 2013 Stanley Cup Final (3-2 win at Boston).
J.T. Compher notched his third assist of the postseason, which leads all rookies in the playoffs.
Patrik Nemeth had a game-high five hits.

Colorado G Andrew Hammond

On his game: "I mean I said it yesterday, you want to play meaningful hockey and when the games mean more, I think I try to take my game to another level and obviously I was able to do that tonight. The guys kept battling, didn't waver even when we get down 1-0 late. To win it in regulation, it just speaks to the character we have here and the no quit. That's the same approach I expect for Game 6 now, keep grinding away."
On celebrating after the game: "The guys all mobbed me and celebrated so it was obviously a lot of fun, and we are excited to have another game. We didn't want this to be the last one of the season, and I think to a man we all did whatever we could to make sure that wasn't the case."
On keeping his composure: "Obviously I was seeing it pretty well tonight and for the most part I thought guys did a really good job letting me see pucks through lanes and boxing out. And when it wasn't, you know you just got back to your roots. I have said it before, I think I am more of a battler as a goalie than necessarily technically perfect, but you will take it however it comes."
On Colorado's defense: "I thought they were outstanding the whole time. As I said, they kept pucks to the outside for the most part. When there was a breakdown, you just try to be there for them. Overall, I think it was a really gutsy effort by everyone."

Colorado LW Gabriel Landeskog

On Andrew Hammond's play: "Just so calm and steady all night long, and the one they do get in at the end, it's a tough bounce and a good rebound shot and it goes in off their skate. But even after that, he is so calm and just keeps working, keeps playing. You think with a 2-1 lead there with a minute and a half left they found some scoring chances, and he was just so solid. It's fun to see."
On what was said after getting down 1-0: "I mean at that point it was still one shot, one goal. And then Carl, Combs and Nieto got us going there and had some really good shifts in the O-zone, and we got to keep another one going. A great pass by Nate to tie it up. It's the kind of performance that we have been looking for all year. We have talked about how special this group is and tonight we showed it, but we got a lot of work left."
On the team's confidence: "We got a series again going home, and it's going to be exciting. It's what we talked about before tonight, just to win one. We don't have to win three in one night, we just got to win one, bring it back to Denver and we will take it from there."
On forcing a Game 6: "I don't really know what to say, but it's a good game. We talked about it during the game to be comfortable playing in these low scoring games and 0-0, 1-0, things like that. I thought tonight we didn't have the offensive push we would have liked, but I thought we stayed with it and kept working and obviously we saved our best for the last few minutes and no doubt this one feels good. But, like I said, we got a lot of work to do and we got to make sure we rest up and go home and get ready."

Colorado RW Sven Andrighetto

On the game: "Coming back from 1-0, even when they got the goal against, we knew it wasn't over. We believed in us, that's a huge thing with our group in here, we believe in ourselves."
On cutting the series deficit to 3-2: "Now we want to go through seven, obviously. Once you get into the playoffs, it doesn't really matter anymore which position you were in in the regular season. The playoffs is a whole different story and we showed that we believe in ourselves, that we can play with Nashville, and we've been doing a good job so far."
On his game-winning goal: "I was just trying to be ready for the rebound when it pops out, and luckily it went in."
On Andrew Hammond's play: "He was absolutely amazing. I mean you guys all saw it, everyone saw it. He has done it before, he has some experience with that. We knew he was good, but he was exceptional tonight."
