Postgame Quotes
Anaheim Ducks
Ryan Getzlaf
On the team's performance
We took six minutes in penalties in the first period. It's tough to get anything going at that point. We came out of the first period down a goal. We still had an opportunity to play the game. I didn't think we had it mentally tonight. The mental part of the game I didn't think we had. We were losing pucks everywhere. Everything was going off the toe, and that's up top.
On the inability to build off wins
It's very frustrating. We're trying to build. Every day you try to be positive. You try to do things properly. For whatever reason tonight, we didn't have it.
Andrew Cogliano
On the game
It was just embarrassing. That's the word we can use. There's really nothing to break down.
On the reasons why the team came out flat
That's what we're trying to figure out. We gained a little bit of momentum with how we've been playing, and we knew it was going to be a game that we needed to play tight. We needed to earn it. That's how that team plays, and that's how they've always been. That just shows we weren't willing to do anything to win the game. The score was indicative of that.
Head Coach Randy Carlyle
On the team's performance
We didn't have the execution level all night. I don't think it was necessarily the three penalties we took in the first period. It was right from the opening get go. We didn't seem to make a tape-to-tape pass, we didn't seem to be able to execute, we didn't get inside on anybody or win any of the 1-on-1 battles we've been winning our share of over the last little while. We were just a flat hockey club.
On the team's lack of execution
We got a little bit more physical at the end of the second period, the last five or six minutes. We thought we'd be able to carry that out into the third and give ourselves a chance. As far as our execution and emotional level, we looked spent. We didn't have any legs underneath us. Those are the questions you're always going to ask yourself.

Eric Fehr
On this road trip and the California swing
I like the way we are playing as a team. Everybody is going. We are getting contributions up and down the line-up. We are playing a hard game. We are hard on pucks. We're physical. We are not making it easy for teams, that's for sure.
On if this group of games would tell a lot about their potential and group
You never know. It's always tough coming out west. The teams play physical out here and it's a bit of a different style of game. I think our team did a good job adjusting to it and we are playing pretty well.
Alex Stalock
On their dominant effort
We talked about this morning what's been a key to our back-to-backs this year. I said it, the way we've played behind in games when we are down a goal and the way we've come out in back-to-backs. We've come out and almost played better the second night. To see that in a group this early in the season, I think says a ton about what we have in this group.
On this stretch of road games and what it has shown him about the group identity
We sat down early in the year when we had meetings and we want to be a much better team on the road this year. I think what comes with that is having fun on the road as a group. I think early, you are seeing that with this group. Like I said, the looseness of this group around the locker room. We are having big team dinners out or group dinners that are away from the hotel. I think guys are having fun with this first trip. So, it's good.
Head Coach Bruce Boudreau
On the game overall
I was a little worried about the first period thinking they would come out knowing we played last night really hard and it was the opposite. We came out and sort of took a little bit of their spirit away.
On coaching a team that's having success
I think it's fun coaching any team that's winning. It's not fun coaching teams that are losing and I've been on both ends of the thing. When everybody is happy and the players are happy and they're winning, it's a good feeling.
