The last time Anaheim scored four-or-more in a second period was Oct. 26, 2016 vs. Nashville (five-goal second period in a 6-1 win).

With the win, the Ducks swept the two-game season series for the first time since the 2001-02 season (min. two games). The Ducks earned their third straight home win and collected standings points for the sixth time in their last eight games (5-2-1, 11 pts.). Anaheim also improved to 19-4-2 when scoring three or more goals this season.
Ryan Getzlaf recorded his 600th assist in tonight's contest. Getzlaf is the first player in Ducks history to reach 600 assists. He's also the 41st player in NHL history to record 600 assists with one team. He has 22 assists in 22 games, tied for second in the NHL in assists-per-game (1.00).

Postgame Quotes
Anaheim Ducks
Adam Henrique
On the win
I thought we did a good job sticking with it. We had some big plays. Couple big saves, blocked shots and clears. That's a huge win for our team.
On the team's performance
I thought we played with good emotion tonight. Getting off to a good start on this homestand is big. We had a good first period, but we were just down one. We kept pushing forward, had a big second period to grab the lead and went from there.
Chris Wagner
On the second period
It was a nice spark. I thought our forecheck was pretty good. We capitalized on a couple of chances. We got better as the game went on besides a couple penalties in the third. We can't give that team the puck, turnover the puck in the third like that. We found a way to win. That's all that counts.
On scoring four unanswered goals in the second period
It never really comes easy. We had a couple breakaways and the goalie got stuck in the net on Rico's [Henrique's] goal. Time for us to get a couple bounces.
Head Coach Randy Carlyle
On cashing in on scoring chances
If you look at the start of the third period, we hit two posts. The game would've been all over. It would've been a totally different game. It wasn't like we didn't create enough chances. We had our chances. It was disappointing we took two penalties and they scored two goals to make it exciting, but I guess the entertainment value in this game was up there.
On Kase's performance
He's got to be put in situations that he can have success. That's the most important thing with our lineup. We're finally getting some consistency back. The addition of Henrique in the middle with Ritchie and Kase has given us another offensive weapon.
Pittsburgh Penguins
Sidney Crosby
On tonight's loss
We did some good things and then we just made big mistakes in the second period. When you give up that many goals and breakaways in a short period of time, you put yourself in a tough spot.
On maintaining pressure
Throughout the game we gave up big plays, but even with those we did give up, we still had some good chances ourselves. Hagy [Carl Hagelin] hits two posts in two seconds there and that could have changed the game. Third period we kept coming, we generated a lot of zone time and a lot of chances. It's one of those things when you put yourself in that spot, it's hard to climb back.
Tristan Jarry
On the frustrating second period
It's just keeping with it. Obviously, they had a lot of chances in the second and they were really coming at us hard, and just trying to eliminate as many chances as we could.
On facing four breakaways
You just have to have the mindset to take it one shot at a time. I think that is a big thing for me and that's a big thing Mike [Coach Sullivan] and I talk about is just one shot at a time. I think that is something you have to try and focus on.
Head Coach Mike Sullivan
On the overall performance
I thought we had moments in the game when we were really good and others where we weren't so good. You can't give up four breakaways. We're hitting shin pads, we didn't take care of the puck in certain areas of the rink, and when you don't play a disciplined, diligent game in those areas then you are vulnerable.
On the power play
It's hard to score every time you go out. We were two for four. It's unfortunate we gave up the shorthanded goal, the power play goal against. That was one of those instances where I thought we could have done a better job just taking care of the puck.
