The Ducks completed the season sweep of the Boston Bruins with a 5-3 win at Honda Center. Anaheim has defeated Boston in seven consecutive games, marking the NHL's second-longest active win streak against the Bruins (Washington, 8 games). Anaheim also improves to 10-1-1 in its last 12 meetings with Boston, including four consecutive wins at Honda Center.

With his NHL debut tonight, Nicolas Kerdiles became the first player from Orange County (born or raised) to play for the Anaheim Ducks. At the 2012 NHL Draft in Pittsburgh, Kerdiles became the first Ducks draft pick raised in Orange County (Irvine, Calif.) after being selected in the second round (36th overall).

On getting the start
It's not easy when you play once every three weeks, so it's nice to get games back to back. You want to get back as soon as possible [following the Arizona game] and come out strong. We found a way, as a team, to win tonight.

It was nice to get the bounces tonight. We've been having a tough time over the last couple of games to get something going. It was nice that we were able to help the team tonight.

Some games you only need one, like against LA. Other times you play against a team that's been rolling lately. We knew they were going to score some goals tonight. For us, it took four to win. We were lucky to get some goals around the net. To get one in the last couple of minutes was huge. We needed the two points.

Five is a nice number, but three is the better number. Our defensive game was a real big reason why we ended up winning the game. We had a couple of goal posts that helped us as well. It was a great response from Jonathan Bernier getting back into the net after the game in Arizona. All in all, we were pretty pleased with how it ended.
On Boston's offensive creativity
They do a very good job of making it difficult for you, but they got three and we got five. We did a good job of moving our feet to defend and getting in shooting lanes.

On the Bruins' scoring opportunities
There were four or five chances that could've gone our way. Bernier made a nice save on [Bergeron], mine stops just short of the goal line and there were a few other plays we could've capitalized on. That's the way it goes sometimes. The puck doesn't always bounce your way, and they got a couple bounces that went their way. That's just the way the puck fell tonight. We have a big game tomorrow, so we need to make a comeback.
On his goal
[Spooner] made a good play to me, and Bernier was already sliding across, so I could see that play coming. It was puck luck. I could have gotten it up also, but you never know what will happen when that puck hits your stick. Some days that puck will go in, some days they don't. When you get your chances, you have to bear down on them.

Yeah, skinny pants. I squeezed as hard as I could and I felt it kind of leak through, so as I started turning I obviously kicked it in. Tough bounce.
On the team's effort
In the first period, their first shot they got was probably seven or eight minutes into the period. We just kept going. We generated chances. It paid off, but a tough one there at the end. A couple of minutes left and that kind of a goal was scored. We definitely generated offense.

I think the rule in that case is if there's an open net and he's impeded, they can make a judgment call. I had more issues with some of the previous calls, to be quite honest with you, but that's neither here nor there now.
On the Bruins' play tonight
I thought we played hard to get back into the game against a good hockey team that defends well. I think the guys are frustrated. The positive with that is we knew we could've won that hockey game if we just took care of a few things here or there. Nothing worse than going out of a game thinking you had no chance. We definitely had our chance. We had a chance in the second period to extend the lead. We didn't finish, he made saves, we hit pipes, whatever you want to call it. There were a lot of positives. You just hate to come all the way back and get scored on late in the game like that. We've had a bit of that issue throughout the year, some late goals. Clearly, we have to clean that up.
