Coach Bill Peters on capitalizing on chances

Mark Giordano of push to tie game

"We try to respond. We try to come back and get one. It's tough being down in this league, especially when you have to pull your goalie. You're not going to score every time. I thought we were having trouble 6-on-5 getting pucks through. They were blocking a lot. We had one or two good looks, but we couldn't get that puck to the net."

Giordano on Habs' second goal

"We have to get that puck out. At that point their D are going to come and press and they were. But we've got to make clean plays and get out. We didn't. It was bouncing around and they got that rebound. It's just tough. It's disappointing. I thought we generated a lot, had a lot of looks in the third, too. Before they tied it, we could have gone up by two. That would have been nice cushion. For whatever reason it didn't go in and they got the tying goal and then the go-ahead goal."

Matthew Tkachuk on loss

"Very, very tough. That's one where you want the better outcome, for sure. Credit them, they played a good last half of that third period. We weren't sitting back by any means, but we needed to keep pressing. We didn't let off the gas, but we didn't play as much in the offensive zone as we did in the second period."

Mike Smith on his night

"It's obviously disappointing … when you feel like you let your team down, it's probably the biggest frustration, disappointment, that could ever happen in your career; when you drop the ball. Our team played such a great game tonight and deserved a better fate. When something happens like that and it's on you, it's disappointing. It feels like you let your whole team down."
