As Steven Stamkos heats up, so are the Lightning. In four wins last week, the Captain led the team with seven points and picks up his second Player of the Week award this season.

His week began with a two point effort in Monday's 5-1 win over New Jersey. Stamkos picked up the primary assist on Yanni Gourde's second period goal, sending a behind-the-back pass to Gourde who tapped the puck home. Stamkos then added a power play goal 0:20 into the third period that put the game away.

A day later in Detroit, Stamkos received a long feed from Ryan Callahan and beat Jimmy Howard glove side on a breakaway to tie the game at three, as the Lightning would go on to win 6-5 in a shootout.
After being held off the scoresheet on Thursday vs. Boston, Stamkos closed out the week with his best performance on Saturday night against the Avalanche. Stamkos scored the first two goals of the game in the first period and then picked up assists on goals from Alex Killorn and Ondrej Palat in the second period to record his second four point game of the season.
