P.K. Subban Hits the Ice in Nashville

P.K. Subban skated with his Nashville Predators teammates - with almost every NHL regular in attendance - for the first time on Tuesday at Centennial Sportsplex, just one more step to playing his first game in a Preds jersey.
The All-Star defenseman's speed and skill was on display as the team played a controlled scrimmage to round out the practice, which was run by Preds winger James Neal.
For Subban, getting to Nashville and getting back to hockey is something he's been looking forward to, and he didn't waste any time once he arrived back in his new city yesterday.

"Just to get on the ice is a good feeling," Subban said. "I don't really skate too much in the summer, so just to get in a little early and get some good skates in is good."
The summer was even longer than usual for Subban; the blueliner missed the final 15 games of the regular season due to injury and his former club, Montreal, didn't appear in the postseason.
But the summer months have dwindled, and just like the rest of his teammates, Subban is ready for what's to come, starting with the opening of Preds Training Camp on Sept. 22.
"It's a long time off the ice in a game situation for me, but I'm looking forward to getting into training camp, back into an intense atmosphere and back into some games," Subban said. "I just want to play hockey and win hockey games, that's it."
