Pittsburgh renaming street for Penguins goalie Murray

With rookie goalie Matt Murray a big reason the Pittsburgh Penguins are one victory from winning the Stanley Cup, the city of Pittsburgh is pulling out all the stops to celebrate Murray and bring a championship to the Steel City.
Murray Avenue in the Squirrel Hill neighborhood of east Pittsburgh will be renamed "Matt Murray Avenue" during Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Final against the San Jose Sharks at Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh on Thursday (8 p.m. ET, NBC, CBC, TVA Sports), the city announced Tuesday.

Corey O'Connor, a Pittsburgh city councilman, posted this video on Twitter to confirm the ruling had passed.

Pittsburgh has not clinched a championship in a major sport at home since the Pittsburgh Pirates won Game 7 of the World Series against the New York Yankees at Forbes Field in 1960. The Penguins' three Stanley Cup-clinching victories and the Pirates past two World Series titles each came on the road. All six of the Pittsburgh Steelers' Super Bowl victories were at neutral site locations.
Murray, 22, is 14-5 with a 2.09 goals-against average and .925 save percentage in 19 Stanley Cup Playoff games.
