PENGUINS (7-4-1) at JETS (4-3-2)

7 p.m. ET; SN, NHLN, TVA Sports, ATTSN-PT, NHL.TV

The Game

Matt Murray will start in net for the Pittsburgh Penguins against the Winnipeg Jets at Bell MTS Place on Sunday after he made 27 saves in a 2-1 loss at the Minnesota Wild on Saturday.

It was Murray's first loss in regulation since Game 4 of Stanley Cup Final on June 5.

It was thought that rookie goalie Casey Desmith, recalled from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League on Monday when Antti Niemi was placed on waivers and claimed by the Florida Panthers, could make his NHL debut with the Penguins on a back-to-back.

Winnipeg will be looking to rebound from consecutive overtime losses, including 2-1 at Pittsburgh on Thursday. The Jets are 1-1-2 in their past four games and have scored 10 goals in their past five.

Connor Hellebuyck (4-0-1) will start for Winnipeg.

Players to watch

Penguins forward Phil Kessel has 10 points (three goals, seven assists) in his past eight games and scored in overtime against the Jets on Thursday.

Jets forward Nikolaj Ehlers has eight points (six goals, two assists) in his past seven games.

They said it

"I don't think we're good enough 5-on-5 right now. We tend to be one-and-done in the offensive zone. And we're not getting to the net enough, we're not winning enough lose puck battles and as a result, we're not spending enough time (in the offensive zone)." -- Penguins coach Mike Sullivan

"They're just playing simple. They're always playing their own game, it doesn't matter if the opponent scores, they're going to keep playing their game. They're playing so simple that it's hard to play against them. We got to match that today." -- Jets forward Patrik Laine on the Penguins
