Pittsburgh Penguins fans pack city for parade
NHL.com @NHLdotcomPITTSBURGH (AP) -Penguins team owner Mario Lemieux says the Stanley Cup is finally back where it belongs.
Lemieux spoke Monday as tens of thousands of people packed downtown streets for a parade honoring the Penguins' championship. The team took the Stanley Cup on Friday after beating the Detroit Red Wings 2-1.
Coach Dan Bylsma tells the crowd he feels like a Pittsburgh native even though he's only been in town for a little more than four months. He and other players are thanking the crowd for their support.
People are standing 20-deep on some streets and throwing black and gold confetti from parking garages. Many are wearing team jerseys and holding homemade aluminum foil replicas of the prized cup.
