KENNEWICK, Wash. - Chet Pickard made 35 saves and the Tri-City Americans stifled the high-scoring Calgary Hitmen 4-1 to win their eighth straight game on Saturday night in the Western Hockey League.

Adam Hughesman, Taylor Procyshen and Kruise Reddick each had a goal and two assists as Tri-City (22-7-0-2) broke open a close game with a pair of goals in the third to hand the Hitmen their first regulation loss in 14 games.

Tri-City's Mitch Fadden brought down a rain of 2,513 stuffed animals just 58 seconds into the game as he beat Calgary goalie Martin Jones top shelf over his glove to open the scoring.

Carson McMillan scored the lone goal for Calgary (25-5-1-1), while Jones stopped 26 shots.
