Pickard makes 28 saves to lead the Thunderbirds over the Silvertips 2-1 in SO

KENT, Wash. - Calvin Pickard stopped 28 shots in regulation and overtime, then three more in a shootout to lift the Seattle Thunderbirds to a 2-1 win over the Everett Silvertips on Tuesday in Western Hockey League action.

Colin Jacobs scored the shoot-out winner while Burke Gallimore scored in regulation time for the Thunderbirds (14-17-1).

Jesse Mychan scored the lone goal for the Silvertips (6-21-7).

Kent Simpson made 32 saves in defeat.

Neither team could score with the power play as each squad went 0-for-4.
