Phoenix Coyotes finally feeling fine @NHLdotcom

GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) - The Phoenix Coyotes play their home opener Saturday night against the Detroit Red Wings.

It's going to feel like the season opener after what they've been through.

Phoenix opened the season last weekend in Prague with two games against Boston, ending a weeklong jaunt through Europe that included plenty of sites and celebrations.

Worn out from the nonstop tour that included a split with the Bruins, the Coyotes were thankful for having a week between games. Phoenix slogged its way through the first few practices this week before ramping up their intensity for the rematch against Detroit.

The Red Wings knocked Phoenix out of the playoffs last season in a testy seven-game series.
