The Game

Goaltender Calvin Pickard will start his first game for the Philadelphia Flyers when they visit the Ottawa Senators at Canadian Tire Centre on Wednesday.
Pickard was claimed by the Flyers on Oct. 2 after the Toronto Maple Leafs placed him on waivers; it will be his first start since he made 24 saves in the Maple Leafs' 4-3 overtime loss at the Colorado Avalanche on Dec. 29. 2017, his only NHL start last season.
Philadelphia is playing the second half of a back-to-back following an 8-2 loss against the San Jose Sharks in the Flyers' home opener Tuesday.
Goaltender Craig Anderson will start for the Senators; he made 34 saves in a 5-3 win at the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday.

Players to watch

Flyers forward Wayne Simmonds has four points (three goals, one assist) in three games this season.
Senators defenseman Thomas Chabot has five points (two goals, three assists) in his first three games.

Status report

Dzingel, who has four points (two goals, two assist) in three games, did not participate in the morning skate because of an undisclosed injury, but Boucher said he is hopeful the forward will play. If Dzingel cannot, Carey would enter the lineup.
