Gritty gets 'Stranger Things' hot lifeguard treatment

Flyers mascot turns heads in scene from hit Netflix series

Everyone in Hawkins, Indiana was thirsting over Billy the lifeguard when the summer heat hit, and you could say the same about Gritty in the real world all year round.

So it only made sense to insert the Philadelphia Flyers mascot into the scorching scene from the opening episode of the third season of the Netflix series "Stranger Things" in which Billy, played by Dacre Montgomery, walks out for his shift at the local pool and turns every head on the deck.

Gritty pretty much gets the same response wherever he goes. And, OK, he may not have Billy's physique but he is a champion for dad bods.

The Flyers weren't the only team to hop on the "Stranger Things" hype. When the Season 3 was first released on Netflix, the Dallas Stars inserted Victor E. Green as the mysterious Demogorgon in the series opening scene
