NEW YORK -- Brandon Manning's first NHL goal proved to be the game-winner and the Philadelphia Flyers moved within a point of a spot in the Stanley Cup Playoffs with a 4-1 victory against the New York Islanders at Barclays Center on Monday.
Philadelphia (35-24-12), which is 11-3-2 in its past 16 games, is one point behind the Detroit Red Wings for the second wild card in the Eastern Conference with one game in hand. They are three points behind the Islanders for the first wild card with the same number of games played.
