Flyers' VandeVelde to have Player Safety hearing

Supplemental discipline possible for incident with Blackhawks' Toews

Philadelphia Flyers forward Chris VandeVelde will have a hearing with the NHL Department of Player Safety on Friday for an incident with Chicago Blackhawks forward Jonathan Toews during a game Wednesday at United Center.
The incident occurred at 19:30 of the first period. VandeVelde was assessed a two-minute minor for elbowing. Toews remained in the game.

Philadelphia won the game 3-2.
The following grounds are being considered for supplemental discipline: elbowing/illegal check to the head. However, the Department of Player Safety retains the right to make adjustments to the infraction upon review.
