Copley signs 1-year, $1.5 million contract with Kings

Goalie is 16-3-1 in 21 games for Los Angeles, could have become free agent

Pheonix Copley signed a one-year, $1.5 million contract with the Los Angeles Kings on Friday.

The 31-year-old goalie is 16-3-1 with a 2.77 goals-against average, 901 save percentage and one shutout in 21 games (all starts) this season since making his Kings debut Dec. 6, five days after being recalled from Ontario of the American Hockey League.
Copley signed a one-year, $825,000 contract with Los Angeles on July 13, 2022, and could have become an unrestricted free agent after the season.
He is 32-12-4 with a 2.90 GAA, .901 save percentage and two shutouts in 52 NHL games (47 starts) with the St. Louis Blues, Washington Capitals and Kings.
