Phantoms halt losing streak with 4-3 win over IceCaps

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - Taylor Leier's goal at 11:08 of the third period stood up as the winner as the Lehigh Valley Phantoms edged the visiting St. John's IceCaps 4-3 on Saturday in American Hockey League action.

Andrew Gordon, Kevin Goumas and Petr Straka also scored for the Phantoms (20-16-5), who halted a three-game slide.

Will O'Neill had a pair of goals for the IceCaps (18-21-6) and rounded out a three-point night with an assist on a goal from Carl Klingberg.

Martin Ouellette made 23 saves for Lehigh Valley as Connor Hellebuyck turned away 26-of-30 shots for St. John's.

The Phantoms went 0 for 2 on the power play while the IceCaps scored twice on seven chances with the man advantage.
