Laviolette, Preds Coaching Staff Visit Titans

As the Nashville Predators prepare to hold their inaugural Team Smashville Night on Tuesday, the club's coaching staff stepped across the Cumberland River a couple days early to pay a visit to Music City's other major professional sports team.
Preds Head Coach Peter Laviolette, and the rest of the team's coaching staff, patrolled the Tennessee Titans' sidelines on Sunday, speaking with Titans Head Coach Mike Mularkey and comparing notes on management in the professional sports industry.
"It was a good atmosphere, they played great. They're working toward [representing our city well]," Laviolette said. "Yesterday was a big win that puts them back to .500. They have an opportunity to push forward from there. They seemed like they were in control the whole time, and they were sharp yesterday."

During the Preds coaching staff's visit, the Titans pulled off a dramatic 28-26 win over the Cleveland Browns, marking their first home victory over a team other than the Jacksonville Jaguars for the first time in close to two years. The home team also scored a touchdown in every quarter for the first time in almost four years.
So, did Laviolette's up-tempo style of offense have any kind of affect?
"I don't know about that, but it was really good game," Laviolette said.
"I do think even though the systems aren't the same and the sports aren't the same, I do think mindsets and philosophies, just talking shop, a lot of time when you can do that, [it's great]. Mike was great. They supported us at the end of the year, so just strengthening the relationship. Our guys have been there, it was good to just get over there and support them. They're going great, it was a big win for them. We're happy they're doing so well."
Preds players also visited Titans training camp earlier this season, doing their part to return the support Marcus Mariota, Delanie Walker, Avery Williamson and additional Titans players sent their way during Nashville's 2016 Stanley Cup Playoff run.
