Persson and Elson score two goals each to lead the Rebels past the Ice 4-3 @NHLdotcom

CRANBROOK, B.C. - John Persson scored two goals, including the game winner, in a 4-3 overtime win as the Red Deer Rebels defeated the Kootenay Ice Saturday in Western Hockey League action.

Turner Elson also scored two goals for the Rebels (11-4-1).

Elgin Pearce, Brock Montgomery and Erik Benoit scored singles for the Ice (12-3-3).

Patrik Bartosak made 40 saves for the win while Nathan Lieuwen stopped 26 shotsin defeat.

Ice captain Drew Czerwonka left thegame with an undisclosed injury and did not return.
