Penguins forward Craig Adams is expected to be back in time for training camp after undergoing laparoscopic appendectomy surgery this past Friday, the team announced.

Adams surgery was performed by Dr. Jack McKeating at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. He's supposed to need four weeks for rehabilitation.

Adams, who had 15 points in 80 games last season, signed a two-year contract extension on June 10.
