Penguins trade Whitney to Ducks for 2 forwards @NHL

PITTSBURGH (AP) -The Pittsburgh Penguins have traded defenseman Ryan Whitney to the Anaheim Ducks for forward Chris Kunitz and junior prospect Eric Tangradi.

Whitney, who turned 26 last week, has struggled after missing the first half of the season following offseason foot surgery. He has 2 goals and 11 assists and is minus-15 in 28 games this season.

Kunitz is a 29-year-old left wing who has 16 goals and 19 assists for the Ducks. He is a plus-9 in 62 games this season.

The 20-year-old Tangradi is a Philadelphia-born forward. He has 38 goals this year with the Belleville Bulls in the Ontario Hockey League.
