PITTSBURGH - The Pittsburgh Penguins are adding some forward depth to their lineup.
Chris Kunitz and prospect Eric Tangradi are heading to Pittsburgh from the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for defenceman Ryan Whitney.
It's not a typical deadline deal because Kunitz and Whitney are both young players who have long-term contracts.
Kunitz was part of Anaheim's Stanley Cup team in 2007. He has 35 points (16-19) in 62 games this season.
Whitney missed the start of the year with a foot injury and has 13 points (2-11) in 28 games.
Tangradi is a 20-year-old centre who was selected in the second round of the 2007 draft.
