ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman Kris Letang returned to the game Saturday against the Minnesota Wild after leaving early in the third period with an apparent head injury.
Three minutes into the period, Letang was hit by Wild forward Jarret Stoll in the left corner of Pittsburgh's defensive zone. Stoll's shoulder appeared to make contact with Letang's chin. Letang remained on the ice before skating off and going to the locker room.
Stoll was assessed a minor penalty for an illegal check to the head.
Letang returned to the game with 8:37 remaining. He was in the lineup Saturday after missing six games with an upper-body injury. He had two assists in Pittsburgh's 3-1 victory.
