Penguins claim Chris Bourque on waivers @NHL

PITTSBURGH (AP) -Forward Chris Bourque, the son of Hall of Fame defenseman Ray Bourque, has been claimed on waivers by the Pittsburgh Penguins.

The 5-foot-8, 180-pound Bourque had 21 goals and 52 assists in 69 games with the Capitals' Hershey (AHL) farm club and one goal in eight games with Washington last season.

Bourque, 23, was a second-round draft pick by Washington in 2004. He is scheduled to make $577,500 this season.

While the Penguins claimed Bourque, they lost forward Paul Bissonnette on waivers to Phoenix. He had one assist in 15 games with Pittsburgh last season.

Forwards Ryan Bayda and Chris Conner and defensemen Nate Guenin and Deryk Engelland went unclaimed after being waived by the Penguins and will be sent to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (AHL).
