Pelech, Carrozzi combine to give Mississauga a 1-0 win over Brampton @NHLdotcom

MISSISSAUGA, Ont. - Mike Pelech broke up a goaltending duel with a third-period goal and Chris Carrozzi recorded the first shutout of his Ontario Hockey League career as the Mississauga St. Michael's Majors beat the Brampton Battalion 1-0 Friday night for their sixth victory in a row.

Pelech, who has struggled to find the net for a large portion of the season, scored midway through the third and Carrozzi made it stand up by turning aside 41 shots for the Majors (13-11-1-0). It was Pelech's seventh goal of the season.

"I just got a nice big juicy rebound," said Pelech, who grabbed the rebound of a Cameron Gaunce point shot and slid the puck behind Brampton netminder Bryan Pitton.

Pitton had a much easier night in goal for the Battalion (13-10-1-2), facing only 21 shots on the night. Pelech's goal was one of only five shots Mississauga had at Pitton in the third period.
