EDMONTON - The Edmonton Oil Kings are doing no better than the Oilers as the junior squad suffered their 15th straight loss on Friday night, losing 7-0 to the Tri-City Americans in Western Hockey League action.

Alexander Pechurskiy earned his third shutout of the season for Tri-City (37-12-2), stopping 20 shots including T.J. Foster's third period penalty shot.

Johnny Lazo, Patrick Holland and Tyler Schmidt, Kruise Reddick, Justin Feser and Neal Prokop provided the offence for the Americans.

Cam Lanigan stopped 22 shots between the pipes for Edmonton (10-31-11), who have only picked up three points in shootout losses in their last fifteen contests.

Foster was awarded the shot after Pechurskiy threw his stick at a loose puck. Foster had a chance at shoveling the puck into an open cage after the Tri-City netminder came out to challenge a shorthanded oppportunity. Pechurskiy bailed himself out by squeezing the pads on Foster's wrister.

The Americans were 2-for-6 on the powerplay and notched two short-handed breakaway goals. Both shorties were similar plays by Reddick and Feser in the second and third periods, dragging the puck past Lanigan's right pad. Edmonton's powerplay went 0-for-4.

Tri-City snapped a brief two-game skid that came on the heels of a six-game winning streak.
