Paul Thompson lifts Albany Devils over St. John's IceCaps 2-1 in overtime

ALBANY, N.Y. - Paul Thompson scored 3:56 into overtime as the Albany Devils edged the St. John's IceCaps 2-1 on Wednesday in American Hockey League action.

Mike Sislo opened the scoring for Albany (13-4-3) with a power-play goal 11:16 into the first period. Yann Danis made 17 saves for the Devils' fourth win in a row.

Captain Gabriel Dumont replied for St. John's (11-5-6), the AHL affiliate of the Montreal Canadiens. Dustin Tokarski stopped 36 shots for the IceCaps.

Albany went 1 for 5 on the power play, while St. John's was 0 for 5.
