SAGINAW, Mich. - Jake Paterson stopped 42-of-43 shots as the Saginaw Spirit defeated the visiting Mississauga Steelheads 6-1 on Friday in Ontario Hockey League play.
Dalton Young earned the game's first star with a goal and two assist for the Spirit (4-5-2) while Vincent Trocheck had a goal and an assist.
Andrey Alexeev, David Perklin and Brandon Lindberg also scored for Saginaw.
Dylan DeMelo scored the lone goal for the Steelheads (6-4-1), who had their winning streak halted at four games.
Clint Windsor started in goal for Mississauga but was pulled early in the second period after giving up three goals on 13 shots. Spencer Martin stopped 26-of-29 shots in relief.
Saginaw went 2-for-3 on the power play while Mississauga failed to score on five chances with the man advantage.
