KENT, Wash. - Jonathan Parker and Prab Rai both scored twice and Thomas Hickey had three assists to lead Seattle to a 5-3 win over the Portland Winter Hawks on Saturday night in the Western Hockey League.
Rai opened the scoring for Seattle (31-29-1-3) with his 22nd goal of the season. Parker added to the lead later in the first period with his 15th of the season.
The teams exchanged power-play goals in the second period, Charles Wells scoring his third of the season for the Thunderbirds and Radim Valcar answering with his 19th for the Winter Hawks (16-43-2-2).
Parker scored the final goal for Seattle at 1:38 of the third period before Ty Rattie had the first goal of his WHL career and Oliver Gabriel his third of the year to make the final close before Rai scored into an empty net.
Seattle won for the seventh straight time at ShoWare Center in front of 6,138, the largest crowd ever at the arena, which opened in January.
The win improved the Thunderbirds to 8-2-0-0 against Portland this season.
