The New York Islanders
have signed forward P.A. Parenteau to a one-year contract extension.
In his first season with the club, Parenteau is tied for second on the team with 35 points, and is third with 21 assists.
Signed as a free agent this summer, this is the first time Parenteau has played a full NHL season, after splitting previous seasons with the Blackhawks and Rangers and their respective AHL affiliates.
"I'm really excited to stay on Long Island," said Parenteau. "The Islanders organization has given me the chance to prove that I belong in the NHL and I look forward to being a part of the success that is building in our dressing room for the near future."
