Former Philadelphia Flyers
goaltender and two-time Stanley Cup winner Bernie Parent
joined NHL Live to discuss what it was like to play under his former coach Fred Shero
, who will be inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame on Nov. 11.
"Freddy was the best," Parent said. "The great thing about Freddie is defensively we were very strong because we practiced at least a half hour coming out of our zone. By the end of the season we barely made mistakes inside of our blue line. Once we got confidence in doing this, we got confidence in ourselves, confidence in Freddy, and Freddy was a master of introducing new gimmicks as far as improving our games. He was just incredible."
